I’ve been putting off writing about polls because it’s just way too early, but after an appearance on the Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show last week, I thought I’d do a quick breakdown of what the 2024 race looks like at this point.

To almost no one’s surprise, the 2024 election will be a rematch between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump unless something happens with either one of these men’s health or possibly a prison sentence.

So, for argument’s sake, let’s say these are the nominees.

Two very good recent polls have earned a lot of attention: The Wall Street Journal Poll (conducted by Fabrizio/Lee) and CNN.

CNN’s poll had Trump up by a point, while the Fabrizio/Lee tied them. Many commentators noted that the former president is in a much better position than four years ago. In Oct. 2019, The Wall Street Journal had him down 9 points, and CNN had him down 10 points.
