Is He Really The Most Electable?

One of the strongest arguments DeSantis supporters have made for his candidacy in the 2024 Presidential election is that he’s the most electable candidate running for office, making the claim that the Florida governor has better odds at winning the general election than former President Trump, Nikki Haley, Mike Pence, or any other significant challengers looking at running this time.

Is it true, though?

So this post is about to get very nerdy and deep in the weeds. I will explain how election nerds judge election performances given the districts, states, and years specific candidates run in. So I’ll try to explain without losing anyone.
