I spent the last few weeks traveling, especially some time in New York City, New England, and Pennsylvania as well as vacationing in the Dutch Island of Curaçao. During my travels, I’ve spent a lot of time noticing symbols of what defines us as people.
For example, many Italian Catholics will have statues of the Virgin Mother or another saint in their front yard, veterans will either put out the American flag or possibly the flag of the branch of the military they served in, and then there’s quite a few “Let’s Go Brandon” flags flapping in parts of red America. What is the most interesting of them all however is that progressives, especially white woke progressives, have increasingly put out symbols of the American neoliberal empire.
On a trip to Vermont, the American flag was matched nearly equally with flags for Ukraine which darted nearly every third house in the area I visited. During a drive through a suburban neighborhood in Pennsylvania, front lawn signs reading the Nicene Creed of woke progressivism:
“In this house we believe black lives matter, women’s rights are human rights, no human is illegal, science is real, love is love, kindness is everything.”
At least the homeowners don’t have to bother telling people how cringe they are.
