A coalition of 20 Republican states filed a federal lawsuit against President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security to prevent them from expanding “catch and release.” Breitbart News reported the lawsuit challenges the Biden administration’s recent expansion of the parole program, whereby the administration will “allow up to 30,000 qualifying nationals per month” from Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Haiti to stay in the country and work while they await their immigration hearings.
Republican legislators in Utah are moving ahead with a plan that will provide in-state tuition to refugees resettled across the state as well as those who have won parole from President Joe Biden’s administration or given Temporary Protected Status, Breitbart News reported. The plan was unanimously approved by Utah’s GOP-majority House Education Committee. Utah Republicans regularly are some of the worst when it comes to immigration policy.
Breitbart News reported that The Texas Facilities Commission was awarded a $224 million contract to build 9.4 miles of 30-foot border wall segments on private and state owned property along the Rio Grande in Webb County. The state has already negotatied property access for 5.3 miles of the project.
Former ICE Senior Advisor Jon Feere tweeted that he can confirm that an illegal alien gang member who murdered a 20-year old girl from Maryland was allowed to enter the U.S. by the Biden Administration as an unaccompanied alien child.
Michelle Hackman from The Wall Street Journal tweeted that Title 42 has been weakened over the last year. “In Fiscal Year 2021, 1.06 million migrants out of 1.73 million were expelled by Title 42. In the last three months, just 197,000 migrants out of 717,000 were expelled by Title 42.”
The New York Post reported that four migrants bused to NYC from Texas were caught stealing thousands of dollars from malls from stores in Long Island. All four criminals were released either without bail or on a $1,000 and $1,500 bond.
A Rhode Island school encouraged teachers to donate money to help pay off a cartel “coyote” who brought one of its students to the U.S. The student has $5,000 of debt owed to the cartel. In another email shared to social media, Mount Pleasant High School Principal Tiffany Delaney said the money collected would be returned because the request was “not appropriate.” Imagine that — asking teachers to send money to the Mexican drug cartels is inappropriate.
