Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) arrested 29-year-old Alireza Heidari last week after a traffic stop involving a human smuggler at the border in Val Verde County, Texas. Heidari was being smuggled in the vehicle along with four other illegal immigrants. He was located in the trunk. Fox is told that Heidari was handed over to Border Patrol custody and later determined to be a match of the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database. (Townhall)
Luis Perez, a 27-year-old DACA illegal alien from Mexico, was sentenced this month to five consecutive life sentences after having been found guilty last year of murdering three Americans. He entered the US illegally as a child and was only allowed to stay because of former President Obama’s DACA program. In 2017, he was arrested for domestic violence but allowed to stay in the US because it was in a sanctuary county in New Jersey. Maryland Democrats are considering new legislation that would prevent police from stopping motorists if they smell cannabis. The bill also would prohibit police from using some other reasons as cause for a stop, including possession of cannabis, suspicion that the person possesses cannabis, and the presence of money near cannabis. Mohamed Bakari Shei, a 20-year old man from Minnesota, received 176 days in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center, 30 years of supervised probation, and 200 hours of community work service after pleading guilty to raping a four-year old and an eight-year old. The rapes took place before Shei turned 18 and he was tried as a juvenile. He will also not have to be added to the sex offenders registry. (KMLT)
