A study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) calculates that the illegal immigrants who have entered the U.S. since the beginning of President Biden’s term in Jan. 2021 will add an extra $20.4 billion burden a year, in addition to the $140 billion existing illegal immigrants already cost. A crisis is deepening in El Paso, where hundreds of migrants have been released on so-called “street releases” amid a surge in illegal crossings overwhelming the U.S.-Mexico border. U.S. Border Patrol has been so overwhelmed in the region, and the shelters are at capacity — one processing center is three times above its normal capacity, nonprofit shelters are starving for beds and volunteers, and a sudden surge of arrivals from Venezuela is ineligible for expulsion. Immigration authorities are reporting the highest-ever daily number of migrants entering the United States along the southwest border, according to internal Department of Homeland Security communications reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. Border Patrol officers are logging roughly 8,000 migrant encounters a day, the highest daily number in U.S. history, the communications show. Such a massive surge in migrants has left agencies such as Customs and Border Protection scrambling to implement new processing systems.

Vice President Kamala Harris made headlines on Sunday when she claimed that the besieged southern border is "secure", and Harris also revealed that a mass amnesty plan for millions of illegal immigrants is still a top priority for the administration, despite the effort suffering multiple defeats. She emphasized the importance of a pathway to citizenship for those who have entered the country illegally -- noting that it would be for "millions of people." "We also have to put into place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship," she said. (Fox News) Any conversation of an amnesty at any level will be exploited by the cartel to move more people across the borders with the promise of becoming citizens. Harris may be completely unaware but she has made the situation much worse.

In Northern Virginia, a 42-year-old illegal alien and serial sexual predator has been arrested for nearly a dozen attacks along the Washington & Old Dominion Trail dating back to July 15, as well as up to 13 indecent exposure counts. The suspect had previously been deported 3 times. (WUSA9)

Migrant advocates are supporting the Biden administration’s new public charge rule, while Texas on Tuesday joined 13 other states to file against it in court. The Biden administration is amending changes made during the Trump administration that had disqualified migrants from filing for citizenship if they accepted public benefits, like food stamps. The final rule published Friday in the Federal Register changes how it is determined whether noncitizens are inadmissible to the United States because they are likely “to become a public charge.” (Border Report)

At the National Conservatism conference in Miami, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated that the United States does not need mass legal or illegal immigration to be a great nation. (Breitbart) This is very important as DeSantis is trying to create a lane for himself if he decides to run for President. Republican voters and Americans in generally have an increasingly negative opinion of legal immigration.

Nearly a third of illegal immigrants released during the early months of the Biden migrant surge last year failed to show up for required check-ins, according to a new inspector general’s report that said Homeland Security is having a tough time tracking all the people it’s set free. Officials blamed the sheer crush of people rushing the border, saying they were sacrificing record-keeping accuracy for the sake of speed in processing people. (The Washington Times)
