New York Mayor Eric Adams announced the cost of housing migrants will top $12 billion over the next three years, and that’s only if the situation at the border doesn’t get dramatically worse. Democrats have already diverted more than $100 million meant to go to border communities to New York City. The Biden Administration has been playing with the migrant numbers for some time to make the situation seem much more contained than it is. With another wave coming, the migrant population could double and eat up 10 percent of New York City’s budget by 2025, effectively putting the city on the road to bankruptcy. New York was already facing a $9 billion deficit next year. (Breitbart News)

Trump-appointed Judge Roy Altman denied left-wing groups’ demand for a temporary injunction on Gov. Ron DeSantis’ law that criminalizes transporting someone who has entered the United States illegally. CBS News reported that almost immediately after it was filed, U.S. District Judge Roy Altman denied the request for a temporary injunction on a technicality, saying Gov. Ron DeSantis and other defendants who include prosecutors from across Florida, hadn’t been adequately given notice about the motion. The judge said the civil rights groups could file the request again.
The Washington Free Beacon reported violates federal statute over its refusal to provide a full accounting of the number of illegal immigrants in two Alternatives to Detention programs. “Faced with a record number of illegal border crossings, the public has no idea how many illegal immigrants are enrolled in the Case Management Pilot Program and Young Adult Case Management Program. The two initiatives the Biden administration started as part of its general policy of minimizing detention are among the most liberal that the U.S. government offers to illegal immigrants. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is mandated by law to publish the number of illegal immigrants enrolled in each program but has yet to do so.”

A report by the American Immigration Council and the Presidents’ Alliance on Higher Education found that undocumented migrants now account for nearly 2 percent of the higher education population. The vast majority, the authors noted, arrived in the U.S. in their formative years, either as children or teenagers and most often through former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. This program blocked the deportation of certain foreign youth. (Just The News)

The Financial Times reported that S&P Global has stopped handing out scores to corporate borrowers on ESG criteria after creating the score in 2021. This is a huge win for Republicans, especially those in coal mining states who have been at war with Wall Street and major banks over ESG.
Credit card balances hit $1.03 trillion in the second quarter, up 4.6 percent from $986 billion in the preceding three-month period, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Center for Microeconomic Data. This is the first time on record that credit card debt hit over a trillion dollars, and hurts the narrative that the economy is doing great.
