The New York Post reported that the Biden Administration pressured El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser not to issue a state of emergency over the border for fear it would make the Biden Administration look bad. Leeser has rebutted the claim saying it’s not true but on September 27th, he admitted that on video.

Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told Punchbowl News that the GOP led Congress will not approve any “comprehensive immigration” packages that exchange border security for amnesty.
“You can’t tie the two [amnesty and border security]. You’ve got to just go fix the border to start out before you can deal with immigration. I just think it’s too far broken. I don’t think anyone’s going to believe you if you tie the two together.”
The Transactional Resources Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University reported that 63,500 removal cases in immigration court have been dismissed in FY 2022 because DHS — primarily Border Patrol agents — had failed to file charging documents. A report from Nikkei Asia found that the number of Chinese students coming to study in the US has dropped from 80,000 to 56,000 because of increased political tensions and COVID restrictions. Meanwhile the US gives about 100,000 F-1 students visas to Indian nationals. Since 2015, Chinese students have fallen from 43 percent of the US’ foreign student population to 20 percent while Indians have increased from 12 percent to 30 percent.

Something few in the media have discussed is that Democrats are facing woes througout blue states in America. Republicans are competitive in a number of statewide positions throughout deep blue states like California, New York, Vermont, Oregon, and Minnesota. Given that we’re entering a Republican wave, they may see a few upsets. This is because abortion is really not an issue in these states and other issues like lockdowns and crime are at the forefront of people’s minds.
Pennsylvania is arguably the most important Senate election this year and Oz has made up considerable ground against Fetterman in the last few weeks. The brilliant David Byler writes in The Washington Post that there are two reasons for this: the Republican base is finally coming home to Oz and Fetterman has received almost universally bad publicity in the last few weeks. He also states that left-wing polls early on gave Getterman a huge advantage in the overall average but they weren’t honest assesments of the electorate.
Democrat polling expert Stan Greenberg has warned Democrats to stop speaking about Biden’s accomplishments. He stated to Politico that voters become less engaged and likely to vote for Democrats when Biden speaks about what he’s done in the White House.
