Major news outlets like MSNBC and The New York Times article details the recent efforts by GOP governors in Texas and Arizona to bus new migrants to the east coast and how it’s begun to strain resources in places like New York and Washington DC.
San Antonio leaders are apparently overwhelmed by the arrival of released migrants who later use local transportation hubs to reach other parts of the country. Breitbart News reviewed official correspondence and emails regarding a request to limit the number of daily migrant arrivals as local leaders level threats to bus them back to the Texas-Mexico border.
Also according to Breitbart News, after more than a year of inaction, the House GOP leadership has released a brief and vague two-page policy platform on border security for the 2022 election. Titled “House Republicans: We Must Secure the Southern Border,” the low-drama paper ignores the voter-mobilizing and economic impact of legal and illegal migration, but the platform does include significant promises of 2023 legislation to reform current laws on asylum, parole, and other high-profile issues outside the narrow issue of border control. The draft was crafted by Rep. Katko, who is one of the most liberal members of the GOP caucus. So the fact that it didn’t endorse amnesty was considered a victory.
A San Francisco, California, law that allowed illegal aliens and other foreign nationals to vote in some local elections was struck down in court, according to Breitbart News. On July 29, San Francisco Superior Court Judge Richard Ulmer overturned the city’s ordinance that was first passed in 2016, which allowed foreign nationals — including illegal aliens — to vote in citywide school board elections so long as they are the parent of a school-aged child and are not incarcerated or out on parole.
