Fox News’ Bill Melugin tweeted internal DHS data on the 45 cities hundreds of thousands of migrants have flown into via the Biden administration's controversial "CHNV" mass parole program. From January to August 2023, roughly 200,000 migrants entered the U.S. from the program. The cities that received the most migrants are Miami (91,821), Ft. Lauderdale (60,461), New York City (14,827), Houston (7,923), and Orlando (6,043).
The Department of Justice has issued a warning to the state of Iowa, threatening to sue if they enforce a new law criminalizing "illegal reentry." The law allows Iowa officers to arrest undocumented immigrants who have previously been deported or barred from entering the country. If convicted, a judge could order that they be deported back to their home country. The DOJ claims the law violates the Constitution’s supremacy clause. (Des Moines Register)
President Biden is allowing some illegal aliens enrolled in DACA to be eligible for Obamacare. Center for Immigration Studies researchers estimated that the cost of opening Obamacare and Medicaid rolls to illegal aliens would cost American taxpayers about $4,600 per illegal alien. At this rate, Obamacare and Medicaid for DACA illegal aliens have the potential to cost American taxpayers roughly $2.8 billion every year. (Breitbart News)
North Carolina is inching closer to passing a law that bans sanctuary cities. Arrestees would have to remain in local custody for 48 hours, except holidays and weekends, and they could not be held any longer legally. ICE would then either receive custody of the arrestee or rescind the detainer. Republicans believe they have enough votes in the legislature to override a veto by the Democrat governor. (ABC 11)
Illegal aliens stormed the Michigan State House and demanded the legislators grant them the right to obtain driver’s licenses. The bill has been stuck in committee for some time despite the legislature being held by Democrats. (Off the Press)
Thanks to a new law passed by Gov. DeSantis, hospitals have to disclose the cost illegal aliens are posing to Florida’s hospital system. In the first four months of 2024, the cost to hospitalize illegal aliens in the state amounted to $566 million. Most of that is expected to be recouped by taxpayers. (Breitbart News)
