The Cheney family is a political dynasty that I hope goes the way of the Bushes, the neocon father/daughter duo have rightfully become a political eye sore for the Republican Party. Hopefully after the upcoming Wyoming primary we will be free at last.
Despite the recent negative attention that Liz has received since she quite literally lost her mind, and soon her career, attacking Donald Trump, she is far from being the worse elected Republican in office. While she’s terrible on many issues and can’t help but use her podium to talk endlessly about Trump, there are Republicans who are far to the left of Liz. Here is a list of nine elected Republicans who should join Liz in her soon-to-be political retirement.
Note: I’m not including retiring Republicans or most GOP elected officials who are in outrageously liberal districts and are the only ones who can win in those seats. A liberal Republican in a district that Democrats usually only win is obviously preferable in most cases.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (N.Y.)
This may be a controversial take given how much love Stefanik has received from President Trump after his impeachment trial in 2018. Despite her defense of Trump in that monkey trial, the New York Congresswoman is one of the most radically left-wing members of the House in the Republican Party. In 2018, Stefanik worked with House Democrats to try and force an amnesty vote which would have passed had it come to a vote. Before finding new fandom among Trump’s base, Stefanik often mocked the President for his immigration positions, calling the idea of a border wall “stupid.” Now she’s busy trying to convince voters she’s “Ultra MAGA” which is a made up term meant for rebranding her establishment credentials. Elise Stefanik is the GOP version of Hillary Clinton, willing to do anything and everything to gain political power.
Stefanik recommitted her support for endless wireless surveillance on American citizens.
Voted for a Democrat bill to commit the US to the Paris Climate Accord, which would have hurt American industry while committing billions to third world nations overseas.
Supported the Equality Act, which would have allowed transgendered men access to bathrooms of young women and girls.
Supported no less than six amnesties in the last four years.
Committed US troops to endless wars.
Voted to send $40 billion to Ukraine.
